N. Mertziotis, President of ΕΕΕΘ, was invited as a guest speaker at the 43rd Congress of the Société Internationale d’Urologie (SIU) and presented the results of an international multicentric study he designed and leads, involving collaborating centers from the universities of Perugia and Rome, the Urology Clinic of Besançon in France, and the Urology Clinic of the National University of Singapore.
The study compares focal therapy using diode laser against high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) for localized prostate cancer — it remains the only study to date comparing these two focal therapy approaches.
